Senegal 2011-12

Just back from another great trip to Africa!

Drum and Dance Trip 2011/12
Senegal 2011-12 was another major success, the 11 people who came this year are ALL booking again for next year, so if you want to get involved you need to book early!

We stayed in the beautiful village of Toubab Diallaw, just an hour and a half south of Dakar, the capital of Senegal, and we were accompanied every step of the way by our incredible African team of musicians, dancers and helpers.

A beautiful house, right on the beach with huge grounds provided the perfect back-drop to drum, dance and balafon to our hearts content! 5 hours a day for twelve days, we were exhausted, but happy and yet again mesmerised by the talent and hospitality of our African family.

Here is what some of our students had to say:

  • ‘Lovely ladies, lots of fun and positive energy, so good to hang out and get to know you. Put me down for Dec 2012 and see you very soon I hope xxx’
  • ‘Saskia, thank you so much for organising such an amazing trip, it touched my heart and improved my dancing! …..definitely want to come again in 2012′
  • ‘Thanks again for all your hard work and endless energy, it was the best trip to Africa I have ever been on. What an amazing group of friends and musicians, you pitched it just right, felt safe and supported. Thank you!’

Bookings for 2012/13 will start in late August, but the dates are likely to be 28 December 2012 to 11 January 2013, places are genuinely limited and already heavily subscribed. If you want to come speak to us soon to reserve a place for dance, drum, balafon and kora workshops …
